Child Protection Training for Sports Clubs and Societies
Most right thinking people would agree that children are a precious gift and should be protected against those who would seek to harm them.
It is now advised that all sports clubs and societies, where children attend, should have an identified Child Protection Officer, whose responsibility it will be to ensure that children attending activities are protected from possible abuse from others. They may also have a key role if a child discloses to them that they have been the victim of abuse elsewhere.
We at The Finch Consultancy Ltd are able to offer quality Child Protection Training at three levels, basic, intermediate and more advanced. These day long courses are offered twice a year each. It is recommended that delegates work their way through the three courses to achieve a high standard of ability, although after attending just the basic course, delegates will be able to discharge their responsibilities as Child Protection Officers.
The various courses will cover legal aspects of Child Protection, signs of abuse, procedures for ensuring a childs safety, what to do if abuse is disclosed or observed, how to support the child and consideration of record keeping and information sharing.
